Anak Anak ku,

Pengisytiharan bandaraya Islam dikhuatiri jatuhkan imej agama

Bukan calang2 ilmunya.

Aduuh.

Emmm, sikit pembetulan, sebenarnya pengisytiharan Kota Bharu sbg Bandaraya Islam dibuat pada 1 Oktober 2005.

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan state capital was declared an “Islamic City” in a lavish ceremony before 55,000 people here that featured a concert performance by Akademi Fantasia star Mawi.

Sultan of Kelantan, Tuanku Ismail Petra, made the declaration amid cheers and applause from the people who packed the Sultan Mohamad IV Stadium here last night.

Fifteen horsemen drew a carriage that carried a scroll, which was handed to the Sultan who read the declaration at 10.40pm.

As soon as the declaration was made fireworks burst the sky and the crowd cheered. (The Star 2 October 2005)

[......], Kelantan PAS exco Takiyuddin Hassan denies there has been a U-turn in the party.

“We have never banned entertainment totally. We have had nasyid and dikir barat. We have had an enactment on the control of entertainment since 1998 which states that entertainment must fulfil certain conditions.

“And now we found someone with a huge following (Mawi) who can carry our message. So it is very timely for us to go a step further and try now. Better late than never,” said Takiyuddin, one of the main people behind the concert.

As far as he is concerned, Friday’s concert was a huge success.

“I noticed the crowd of young people listened to the music calmly. There was discipline. There was no shouting. Everything went on in a very orderly manner,” he said sounding so pleased with the outcome.

“Not only were the youths entertained, they also got messages from the performance. These were messages like entertainment should not dull one’s senses, people should not indulge in vices, and the obligation of the young generation,” he said.

PAS made it a point to invite the parents of the Akademi Fantasia 3 idol from Johor for the concert. And hammered this point in at the start of the concert by telling the crowd their action of having Mawi’s parents here is to remind the young to love, respect and obey their parents.

KOTA BARU: Akademi Fantasia 3 winner Mawi supports the move to separate the male and female audience.

He said there was nothing political about his opinion and he would support any move that was good. He was speaking to reporters after his two concerts held here in conjunction with the declaration of Kota Baru as an Islamic City.

.......

Earlier, his mentor M. Nasir described the invitation to perform here as an honour and a unique experience to be part of an Islamic-based concert.

“It may showcase a new era in entertainment here and I have no problem.”

Asked if he would emulate the style of dakwah singer Akhil Hayy, a 1990s rocker, M. Nasir said each person has his own way to deliver dakwah music.

Anak-anak ku,

Sesungguhnya memang lumrah dan sifat semulajadi manusia sentiasa ingin berhibur dan bergembira. Terutama dikalangan anak-anak muda.

Tapi, tak tau lah- semuanya kak teh rasa berbau politik.
salam.
